Kuula Microfinance Company Limited ("Kuula", "we", "us") is committed to protecting the personal data of every person who interacts with our website, our application, or our field team. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

What we collect

  • Contact details:name, phone number, email, and WhatsApp number when you reach out through this site.
  • Borrower information:National ID details, business details, mobile money history, and community reference details collected when you register as a borrower.
  • Website analytics:anonymized page-view counts and traffic sources to help us improve the site.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your inquiry and arrange follow-up.
  • To assess loan applications fairly and transparently.
  • To meet our reporting obligations to the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), and to UMRA and the Credit Reference Bureau once our licence is issued.
  • To improve our products and services.

How we protect it

Personal data is stored on secure systems with restricted access. We do not sell personal data. We share data only with the Uganda Revenue Authority where required by law, and with service providers who are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations. Once our Tier IV licence is issued, this will extend to UMRA and the Credit Reference Bureau.

Your rights
